Photography Exhibition at The Shard Offices

The collection captivated visitors with its striking fusion of photography and mixed media, while selected pieces from his earlier series, Tar & Chalk, offered a deeper insight into the evolution of Besnik’s distinctive artistic style.

Based at Al Jazeera in The Shard, Besnik has earned recognition for his experimental approach that pushes the boundaries of traditional photography. His works are celebrated for their tactile and layered quality, created through the use of handmade paper and mixed materials that transform each piece into a sensory experience.

In 2020, Besnik was named UK Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020 in the My Isolation Landscape category, for his poignant image Silent Covid Morning, which captured the rare stillness of London during lockdown. That same sense of atmosphere and introspection permeates The Echoes of a Moment, where his art explores the interplay between memory, time, and transformation.

Describing his practice as “part camera, part chaos, all art,” Besnik continues to blur the line between photography and fine art. The exhibition at The Shard offered occupiers and visitors the opportunity to meet the artist and acquire limited-edition works.
