Siobhán McAuley Exhibition at The Shard

27th May 2026

Last week, The Shard hosted a special pop-up exhibition by Siobhán McAuley, shining a light on the creative talent that exists within our occupier community.

The exhibition offered visitors a rare opportunity to experience the work of an artist whose professional and creative worlds intersect within the building itself. Alongside her artistic practice, Siobhán is part of The Shard community, working as a freelance Ingest MCR Operator and Floor Manager for Al Jazeera.

Storytelling through form

Originally from Ireland—a nation renowned for its rich storytelling traditions—Siobhán’s work draws deeply on narrative. Her pieces explore the retelling of memories, adventures and imagined predicaments, often shaped by an experimental and intuitive process.

Rejecting conventional structures of beginning, middle and end, her work echoes the fragmented rhythm of surrealist poetry and the literary style of James Joyce. These disjointed narratives are distilled into both two- and three-dimensional forms, including paintings, collages and sculptures.

The result is a body of work where abstract storytelling takes physical shape—each piece offering an unexpected interpretation of memory, imagination and experience.

Supporting Hidden Talent at The Shard

This exhibition forms part of a broader commitment at The Shard to celebrate and support the diverse talents of those who work within the building. By providing a platform for occupiers to showcase their creative pursuits, the building becomes more than a place of work—it becomes a space for expression, connection and community.

Bringing Siobhán’s work into the shared environment of The Shard created a unique opportunity for colleagues and visitors alike to engage with art in an unexpected setting, reinforcing the building’s role as a cultural as well as commercial destination.
