The Shard

<p>Office occupiers at The Shard came together last week to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship and connection during a vibrant new Craft Week.</p> <p>Building on The Shard’s ongoing commitment to fostering a strong sense of community within its vertical city, the week-long programme invited occupiers to step away from their desks and engage in a series of thoughtfully curated workshops led by independent makers and artisans.</p> <p>Throughout the week, occupiers had the opportunity to explore a diverse range of crafts, each designed to inspire creativity while encouraging interaction between colleagues from across the building.</p>

<p>This February, The Shard welcomed a vibrant exhibition with art curated by <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.thelemongrovegallery.co.uk/" target="_blank">The Lemongrove Gallery</a>.&nbsp;</p> <p>The temporary installation brought a selection of contemporary artworks into the building, offering occupiers and visitors the opportunity to experience striking pieces in one of London’s most iconic spaces.</p>

<p>The Lion Dance is one of the most recognisable and celebrated traditions of Lunar New Year. Symbolising fortune, prosperity and new beginnings, the performance is believed to bring good luck and positive energy for the year ahead.</p> <p>Accompanied by the rhythmic beat of drums and cymbals, the Lion travelled through the building, creating moments of surprise and celebration for those working within The Shard.</p> <p>The activation formed part of The Shard’s ongoing programme of cultural moments and occupier engagement, designed to bring the vertical city together through shared experiences. Events such as this not only mark important dates in the global calendar, but also celebrate the diversity of the building’s business community.</p>

<p>During Valentine’s week, occupiers at The Shard took part in a series of CPR training sessions as part of a Restart a Heart initiative, learning vital skills that could help save a life.</p> <p>Hosted within the building, the hands-on sessions gave members of The Shard community the opportunity to learn how to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency. With guidance from trained professionals, participants were introduced to the essential steps of CPR and how to use a defibrillator (AED).</p>
