AQUA SHARD REVEALS 'THE TREE OF GLASS'

Restaurants and Bars

Designed by Lee Broom in collaboration with glassware brand Nude, aqua shard unveiled a cascading Christmas tree inspired by The Shard.

Positioned in aqua shard's three-storey atrium with a backdrop of the London skyline, 'The Tree of Glass' is comprised of 245 hand-blown glass LED pendant lights floating in formation. Inspired by The Shard's architecture, each pendant comes together to create a single tree of light and glass in the shape of the building's silhouette.

Designed by iconic British product designer, Lee Broom, and contemporary glassware brand, Nude, the tree will raise funds for the British Red Cross. Each of the 245 pendant lights are available to purchase from the Lee Broom website with all proceeds being donated to the UK Solidarity Fund and London Fire Relief Fund.

In addition, aqua shard has developed a special dessert and cocktail to be sold until 5th January, with 50% of the net sales going to the British Red Cross. The restaurant will also add an optional £1 to every bill throughout the Christmas period, which will be donated directly to the charity.

The bespoke cocktail (£9) is a modern take on Stone’s Ginger Wine, using seasonal plums and fermenting them for 21 days to create a unique rich and sweet flavour. The cocktail is garnished with dehydrated orange, redcurrants and a cinnamon stick, making it the perfect festive serve. Alongside the cocktail, guests can enjoy an equally seasonal dessert, comprising of a cranberry poached pear served with eggnog and Christmas pudding ice cream (£14).
