Exploring Art in London Bridge with Blue Badge Tour Guide Mr Londoner
07 July 2025
NewsA group of people who work in The Shard recently stepped outside their offices to see their neighbourhood through new eyes, thanks to a unique art-focused walking tour led by Antony Robbins—also known as Mr Londoner.

The tour, exclusively for businesses in the building and their employees, offered a fresh perspective on the rich public art landscape surrounding The Shard. As a Blue Badge tour guide and former Museum of London director, Mr Londoner brought his signature blend of storytelling, history, and insight, transforming a lunchtime stroll into a cultural journey.

Highlights of the walk included "WE" by Jaume Plensa, a striking sculptural installation located just outside The Shard. Composed of two seated figures made of stainless-steel letters, the piece symbolises connection, communication, and shared humanity—apt themes for one of London’s most globally-connected business hubs.

The group also explored "In A River a Thousand Streams", a colourful, immersive mosaic installation designed by the London School of Mosaic in collaboration with artist Adam Nathaniel Furman. Located in the nearby station underpass, this vibrant piece celebrates the diverse communities that flow through London Bridge every day.

The event wasn’t just about admiring the art—it was about fostering a sense of place and community among those who work in and around The Shard. Attendees shared stories, asked questions, and took away a deeper appreciation for the creativity embedded in their daily environment.
“It’s easy to walk past these works without really seeing them,” said one participant. “This tour helped me pause and take it all in. It made me feel more connected to the area.”

Antony Robbins is a well-known figure on the London heritage and arts scene. As Mr Londoner, he leads bespoke tours exploring everything from historic architecture to contemporary street culture.
