Afternoon Tea at Shangri-La The Shard, London with Papa Salt Coastal Gin
This summer, Shangri-La The Shard, London joins forces with Papa Salt Coastal Gin to present A Summer Above – a limited-edition afternoon tea inspired by the spirit’s sun-drenched coastal origins.

Co-founded by Margot Robbie, Charlie Maas, Tom Ackerley, Regan Riskas and Josey McNamara, Papa Salt is distilled in Byron Bay using native Australian botanicals, bringing a laid-back coastal essence to the skies of London.

Launching this June until 30th September 2025, the experience blends bold seasonal ingredients with bright, sun-soaked flavours in a vibrant celebration of summer. Served 35 floors above the city, the menu invites guests to savour the essence of seaside elegance, reimagined high above London’s skyline.
Curated by Executive Pastry Chef Piero Sottile and his team, the afternoon tea captures the carefree spirit of summer through citrus brightness, gentle spice and a whisper of ocean air. Expect delicate, uplifting flavours across a curated selection of patisserie, with notes of vanilla, verbena, apricot and Japanese Sencha infused throughout.

Highlights include:
• Ocean Jewel – Silky vanilla and pecan praline, as smooth and light as sea foam.
• Blue Horizon – A vivid fusion of blueberries and lemon, capturing the brightness of summer skies.
• Coral Bloom – Layers of Valrhona Caramelia, apricot and verbena, bursting with coastal warmth.
• Shard of the Sea (to share) – A dramatic showpiece featuring Japanese Sencha tea, peach and mango, served atop a bed of clouds—an ode to serene summer afternoons.
