The owners of The Shard confirm that Robert Half, the worldwide leader in specialised recruitment and consulting services, is to take 20,200 square feet of office space on Level 10 of The Shard.
The move will allow Robert Half to centralise its London business under one roof, bringing three branch locations of the company’s recruitment operations and its consulting and internal audit subsidiary Protiviti, together for the first time. Robert Half will move into the building by October 2015.
Founded in 1948, the New York Stock Exchange-listed Robert Half pioneered specialised recruitment services and now has staffing operations in more than 330 locations worldwide. The company specialises in the placement of highly skilled temporary, permanent and senior-level interim professionals in the fields of accounting and finance; banking and capital markets; technology and administration. Its subsidiary, Protiviti, is a global business consulting firm that helps companies solve problems in finance, technology, operations, governance, risk and internal audit through a network of more than 75 locations in 25 countries, bringing total Robert Half staffing and consulting locations to more than 400 offices worldwide.
With revenues of $4.7 billion in 2014, Robert Half is the first recruitment expert to base its operations at The Shard. The building is now home to 20 companies across 10 industry sectors, including media, finance, professional services, consulting, luxury brand, education, flexible offices, energy and recruitment. Around 8,000 people now work at London Bridge Quarter, the vibrant estate comprising The Shard and the adjacent News Building. Approximately three-quarters of the entire estate is now let.
Irvine Sellar, The Shard’s developer and co-owner, and James Goldsmith, Leasing Director of REM, said: “Robert Half is a globally recognised company and The Shard’s first specialist in professional staffing and consulting services. Their business agenda is entirely consistent with our own philosophy of championing workspaces that attract and retain talent. It will further our vision of creating Europe’s first vertical city – a building with multiple uses and businesses where people can live, work and visit – which continues to come to life and bring added vibrancy to London Bridge Quarter."
Phil Sheridan, Managing Director, Robert Half, said: “We are delighted to call The Shard home this autumn. It means that our employee teams will now reside in a single London location, which will facilitate even greater collaboration. The Shard is centrally located and provides convenient access and an ideal meeting setting for our clients and job candidates as well.
Andrew Clinton, Protiviti executive vice president of international operations and head of the firm’s UK operation, said “We want to give our clients and employees an exceptional experience, and locating in The Shard will contribute towards that goal. We look forward to collaborating closely with our Robert Half colleagues as we create unique consulting and staffing solutions for our clients from this exciting new business environment.”
Robert Half will commence fitting out over the next few months and take occupation in the autumn.
