THE SHARD ANNOUNCES THIRD LETTING OF 2016 TO POLITICAL PUBLISHER DODS GROUP
The Shard is pleased to announce the third letting of 2016 to specialist political publishing house Dods (Group) Plc.
- Dod’s has let 16,875 sq ft on Level 11 of The Shard on a 10-year lease.
- Dod’s are now the The Shard’s 28th office occupier and join Al Jazeera, Gallup and Protiviti as the buildings education, consulting and research sector tenants.
- The lease announcement brings the building’s office space to nearly 90% let.
It is the third letting to be confirmed this year by REM, on behalf of the owners of The Shard, and follows the announcements that digital marketing agency Jellyfish and luxury fashion retailer MATCHESFASHION.COM had taken space earlier in the year. The political publishing house Dod’s will move from its current base on Dartmouth Street, SW1, to London Bridge in September 2016. Dod’s will be the 28th office occupier bringing the number of sectors represented in The Shard offices to 15 demonstrating the success of the vision to create Europe’s first vertical city.
The letting reduces the space now available to let to some 120,000 sq ft over 4 whole floors and 2 part floors.

The letting to Dods was notable due to them first viewing in March, agreeing terms by the 24th and solicitors being formally instructed on 30th March. Throughout Dods were impressed by and complimentary about their experience of visiting The Shard, how they were treated and greeted by all members of the team which they have said was a material contributor to them wanting to be in The Shard.

London Bridge has become a hub for some of the world's most influential media brands and the influx of TMT companies now account for 20% of the total occupier base in the area. Al Jazeera was one of the first occupiers to move into The Shard, whilst The News UK Group moved into the neighbouring building, also managed by REM and now known as The News Building, in 2014 bringing The Times, Sunday Times, Wall Street Journal and Harper Collins into the neighbourhood.
