From music gigs to afternoon tea, there are plenty of reasons to visit The Shard and London Bridge this summer.

THE VIEW FROM THE SHARD

Throughout August and September, The View from The Shard will be taking music to new heights with their first ever 'Summer of Music', 800ft above the city. Throughout the month a variety of artists will be performing at the top of the iconic structure adding entertainment to the already amazing photo opportunities. Book in Fridays with live performances from Artful Dodger and Pied Piper to Hoosiers. Fill your Saturday's with DJ's such as Vernon Kay & The Mac Twins to George Shelley & Toby Anstis. HUTONG

The Shard's Northern Chinese inspired restaurant are celebrating their fifth anniversary since opening. To mark the occasion, Hutong's Head Chef, Fei Wang, has created a special Fifth Birthday Menu showcasing your facourite dishes from the past five years. You can also celebrate by visiting Hutong's Shanghai Bar to try a selection of cocktails from their past. The bar team have brought back Hutong's best-selling tipples that have been served over the years for you to enjoy once again.

OBLIX

Using a blend of ingredients sourced from the city's eclectic mix of 32 boroughs, the London Afternoon Tea at oblix takes you on a tour of the capital. Scrumptious cranberry scones, ham, alexandra cheese, celeriac and mustard sandwiches with cheese from The Urban Cheese Maker and chocolate and passion fruit tart are just a few of the mouth-watering options available on the menu. To accompany your very London Afternoon Tea there is a choice of nine different blends, from Chinese oolong tea to oblix's own afternoon blend. Available Monday to Sunday, from 2:45pm-4:30pm. AQUA SHARD

Take a trip down memory lane with an exciting new afternoon tea inspired by Mary Poppins. Aqua shard will be celebrating the relaunch of the five original Mary Poppins classic books from HarperCollins Children’s Books with an exciting series of nostalgic and creative sweets and savouries. The Mary Poppins Afternoon Tea will be served in the triple-storey atrium of aqua shard, boasting panoramic views of London’s skyline. Served every day from 1.00-5.00pm, the afternoon tea is priced at £49 per person, or £66 with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne, and £72 with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Rosé. FLAT IRON SQUARE

Launched in October 2016, Flat Iron Square is a foodie hub in Bankside, taking over seven railway arches, Grade II listed building Devonshire House and the surrounding area. Through the summer there will be live music with Lagunitas on the garden stage and weekend vintage and makers flea markets. For more information click here.

SUMMER BY THE RIVER

Stretching along the riverside from London Bridge to Tower Bridge, the 'Summer by the River' festival hosts free music performances, live comedy, outdoor cinema screenings and activities in London Bridge till the end of August. For more information click here.

FASHION AND TEXTILE MUESUM 

Orla Kiely is one of the UK and Ireland's most successful designers. Her stylized graphic patterns are innovative, influential and instantly recognisable. Featuring over 150 patterns and products, as well as collaborations with photographers, film directors and architects, 'Orla Kiely: A Life in Pattern' emphasises the role of ornament and colour in our everyday lives. UNICORN THEATRE 

The Unicorn is the UK’s leading theatre for young audiences, producing an eclectic and surprising programme of work year-round for children aged six months to 18 years. This summer they will be offering holiday workshops including 'Family Ceilidh Craic', 'West African Drumming and Dancing', and 'Moving and Grooving: Dance Medley'. 

BERMONDSEY STREET FESTIVAL

On Saturday 15th September between 11am and 7pm, Bermondsey will be transformed into a street full of stalls. From handbags and leather aprons to peanut butter and honey - the best local crafts you can find in South London. Alongside stalls, there will be a dog show, children's entertainment, a wellbeing area and food and drinks stalls featuring local restaurants such as Hutong. WHITE CUBE GALLERY

White Cube is a contemporary art gallery owned by Jay Jopling, with one of it's two London branches based in Bermondsey. This summer the art gallery will host 'Memory Palace', a major group exhibition extending across White Cube’s London galleries including Bermondsey and Mason’s Yard. Featuring more than 90 recent works by over 40 artists, 'Memory Palace' seeks to inspire reflections on the forms and themes of memory. The exhibition’s architecture leads the viewer through six aspects of memory: Historical (at White Cube Mason's Yard), Autobiographical, Traces, Transcription, Collective and Sensory (at White Cube Bermondsey). THIRD SPACE FITSTIVAL 

Third Space at Tower Bridge have teamed up with London Bridge City to offer free fitness classes to local residents and workers at The Scoop and Hay's Galleria. Morning classes from 7am to 8am run through until the end of August, including Ultra Shock Circuit, The Method, Pulse, Hatha Yoga and Metaburn. POTTERS PARK 

With sweeping  views of the river, and iconic sights of Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, the ‘Gherkin’, the glass dome of City Hall and HMS Belfast, Potters Fields Park is right in the heart of London Bridge. This summer, the fields will host three food festivals: 'Comida Fest 2018' (Latin-American food) from Saturday 11th to Sunday 12th August; 'Chinese Food Festival' from Friday 31st August to Sunday 2nd September; and 'Indonesian Weekend 2018' from Saturday 8th to Sunday 9th September. 

The park will also host the 'Bee Project' from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th September, a charity activation to educate and inform the London public of the lack of plants and food to facilitate for the growing number of bees in London.
