IN CONVERSATION WITH BEATRIX ONG
Cultural Salon is back September 2nd at Shangri-La Hotel. On Wednesday 2nd September, designer Beatrix Ong MBE, will be in conversation with Director of the Design Museum, Deyan Sudjic OBE.
As part of the Shangri-La Hotel's continuing Cultural Salon series, this event will be a unique insight into Ong's design journey to China via London.
Aged just twenty two, Ong became one of the youngest creative directors at Jimmy Choo after studying at Central Saint Martins. Since then, she has collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious and inspiring creatives, from artist Natasha Law to global brands like Nike and British retailer Liberty.
In 2013, she joined the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne and UK Prime Minister David Cameron on trips to China to promote British creativity. In 2015, Ong was a member of the delegation party of His Royal Highness Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge, on a visit to China as part of the GREAT Festival of Creativity.
