GŎNG COCKTAIL BAR OPENS IN THE SHARD
The Shangri-La Hotel's GŎNG cocktail bar on the 52nd floor of The Shard is now open.
Visitors to GŎNG will be able to enjoy a range of signature cocktails and vintage champagnes against the backdrop of dramatic, 360-degree views of London.
Perfect for sunset cocktails and late-night drinks, the bar offers three lofted areas; a cocktail bar, champagne bar and an infinity swimming pool, for guests to relax and soak in the stunning cityscape.
The venue's modern Asian design was inspired by the mythical aspect of cinnabar - a mineral that has been used historically to create the 'dragon red' found in the walls of Chinese Imperial Palaces.
GŎNG derives its name from 'dougong' - a unique structural element of interlocking wooden brackets used in traditional Chinese architecture and also featured in the bar.
