THE SHARD WINS RIBA LONDON 'BEST COMMERCIAL BUILDING' AWARD
On May 6th 2014,The eagerly anticipated RIBA Award winners were announced, honouring London's best buildings and architects.
The Royal Institute of British Architects awarded The Shardand architect Renzo Piano with the 'Best Commercial Building 2014'.

The Shard aims to inspire businesses to expect a higher quality working environment, architects to approach commercial projects with a more open mind, local business to reset their sights at a higher lever and international business to understand where the true heart of London lies.
Some of the capital's most high-profile buildings were recognised with the awards with a total 173 entries leading to 64 building nominations in categories that include Commercial, Education and Community, Arts & Leisure and Housing.
Winners will be put forward for the RIBA National Awards in June identifying architectural excellence around the country and setting the standard for good architecture.
