THE SHARD ILLUMINATES LONDON WITH WESTERN EUROPE’S HIGHEST LIGHT SHOW

The Shard

The Shard’s popular festive Shard Lights display has returned for the fourth year since the building opened with a new signature design by Woodroffe Bassett Design. Look up at the spire from dusk to see London illuminated with a sequence of beams, stripes and sparkles.

Shard Lights runs through the night, repeating every hour on the hour till 2am. The final show will take place on New Year’s Eve, ending at 4am on New Year’s Day.

The challenging 20 storey installation designed by Woodroffe Bassett uses 344 luminaires, including state of the art LED light beams to create Western Europe’s highest light show.

“ILLUMINATING THE SPIRE OF THE SHARD TO ENSURE THE LIGHT SHOW HAS A VISUAL EFFECT AT 1,016 FEET REQUIRES A GREAT DEAL OF PLANNING AND TECHNICAL EXECUTION. IT'S A CHALLENGE THAT WE HAVE THOROUGHLY EMBRACED AND ENJOYED PROVIDING FOR THE SHARD AND WE HOPE LONDON WILL VIEW IT AS THE BUILDING’S BEST LIGHT DISPLAY IN RECENT YEARS.”
