Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard celebrates the Queen’s 90th birthday with an exciting collection of festivities and culinary treats to mark the historic milestone of our great monarch.

Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday is one of the key highlights of 2016, and Shangri-La At The Shard are inviting everyone to join in and celebrate the royal occasion whilst taking in the spectacular views over the city. 

Throughout April and May, a Royal Afternoon Tea will be held in TĪNG Lounge on Level 35 of The Shard, a celebratory cocktail made with the Queen’s favourite spirits on offer in GŎNG, the hotel’s destination bar and lastly, an original range of hand-made ‘Royal’ chocolates to be sold in LÁNG, the hotel’s patisserie on the ground floor by the UK’s leading Chocolatier, Paul A. Young.

Royal Afternoon Tea at TĪNG Lounge

In order to help commemorate the royal occasion, the pastry chef at Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London has created a royal-inspired menu available from 8th April – 19th May and includes a delicate selection of sandwiches and pastries favoured by the Queen herself including classic Smoked Coronation Chicken with apricot and toasted almonds and roasted angus beef with English mustard butter, topped with Winchester watercress. 

Guests will also receive a mini gift box of Royal Chocolates, from Shangri-La Hotel At The Shard’s collaboration with innovative chocolatier Paul A. Young.

The Queen’s Birthday Cocktail in GŎNG 

The Queen has also been known to enjoy a snifter on occasion and has long been a fan of gin and Dubonnet. GŎNG, the hotel’s trendy destination bar on level 52 of the hotel, has created a bespoke celebratory cocktail of Dubonnet, Beefeater 24, Ratafia and two dashes of liquorice bitter, served on the rocks with grapefruit peel, appropriately called the Queen’s Way.

GŎNG invites guests to drink in the iconic London skyline with a modern interpretation of Her Majesty’s favourite drink, Queen’s Way.

 

Paul A. Young Royal Chocolates in LÁNG 

Shangri-La Hotel’s acclaimed patisserie, LÁNG, has partnered with the UK’s leading chocolatier Paul A. Young to create an innovative range of entirely hand-made and natural fine chocolates, in celebration of the Queen’s 90th Birthday and her 63 year reign. The range takes inspiration from standout moments as well as Her Majesty’s favourite ingredients over the past six decades.
