LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL 2015 COMES TO LONDON BRIDGE NEIGHBOURHOOD
For the first time since its inception in 2003, the London Design Festival is extending south of the river.
Coordinated by Better Bankside, there will be over twenty events and activities in the area from workshops to walking tours, exhibitions and outdoor installations. Dotted all over the London Bridge Neighbourhood, some of our favourite bars and restaurants will be offering special promotions on drinking and dining on presentation of the London Design Festival guide, including Hixter, Bedales and Albion.
The design programme will feature local talent in and around Borough Market and London Bridge. Better Letters pop-up Sign School will celebrate the market’s heritage of painted signage. Southwark Street will be transformed into an outdoor gallery with an on-street installation called Colourful Crossings. A Ghost Signs walking tour will reveal some of South East London’s most iconic signs, exploring local, advertising and design history. The Contemporary Applied Arts gallery will showcase ‘Resonance: Making, Metal and Place’ an exhibition focusing on metal in the urban environment. Buster + Punch will open their showroom and reveal a brand new collection. Local calligrapher Paul Antonio Scribe will run a series of lettering masterclasses. The Marketing Store will be hosting a 24-hour Design Clinic inviting businesses to propose brand refreshes. citizenM hotel will collaborate with British footwear label Clarks and 14 UK‐based artists and designers.
Ending 27th September, check out their website for the full line-up of exciting London Design Festival events and happenings.
