If the Christmas jumper is at the ready and you’re looking for more ways to embrace the Christmas festivities whilst shopping for unique stocking fillers, then definitely make your way to the London Bridge City Christmas Market, just a 5 minutes’ stroll from The Shard.

From 30th November until 3rd January, More London’s annual Christmas Market returns with a spectacular selection of homemade gifts and treats from more than 100 independent traders sold from German-style chalets; scrumptious food pop-ups including a luxury hot chocolate van (yum), festive cocktails, live music, various entertainment, and a brand new light installation by designer Leo Woolcock.

This year the Market will be festively adorned with twinkling Pagoda Lights with each structure lit by a series of changing LED light ribbons, creating waves and patterns of starlight, illuminating one of London’s most iconic locations making it a truly magical visit. And if you’re looking to make it an extra special day, visitors can take the opportunity to pop up to see this year’s magical Height of Winter installation at The View From The Shard where enigmatic experience designers Bompas & Parr have unveiled their enchanting winter experience with glowing crystal benches, a touch-responsive iridescent grotto and seasonal treats including a Mulled Champagne Cocktail. Click here to book your tickets.

FESTIVE ENTERTAINMENT

A fan of Christmas films? Well this year the market will be hosting Christmas films throughout the season, including Miracle on 34th Street, Love Actually and Home Alone to be enjoyed under a heated canopy. If however you’re more of a music fan then you will definitely be in for a treat with live Christmas music from around the world performed by steel drum bands, singers, ska bands and many more.

Nestled between Tower Bridge and London Bridge on the Southbank of the river Thames, shoppers can also marvel at the stunning views of the London skyline whilst being serenaded by local choirs.

WINTER WARMERS

There’s no better time for hot chocolate than Christmas, so it’s wonderful news that popping up at Hay’s Galleria is Beltane&Pop, a luxury van serving 10 different kinds of hot chocolate topped with handmade marshmallow slabs, Chantilly cream, fresh mint or orange zest. To complete the chocolate lover’s dream, there will also be freshly baked choux pastry on offer, filled to order with custards and creams including earl grey chocolate, cinnamon chai and peach and lavender. 

 To complete the perfect end to a magical day, you can’t get much more festive than a trip to level 31 of The Shard to enjoy London’s sparkling night skyline; a perfect backdrop for the spectacular 18-foot Christmas tree designed by Vivienne Westwood situated in the atrium of Aqua Shard restaurant. Bask in the splendour of the stunning design of the tree and the panoramic views along with a winter themed cocktail for the perfect seasonal nightcap.

On Saturday 12 December there will be Elpless Elves a children’s Elf Trail around London Bridge City, leading visitors on an interactive adventure trail around London Bridge City, where performers will be stationed at various stops as the hunt for Santa’s Elves begins. Attendance is free and tickets can be booked online here.

To celebrate Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 18 December, a giant snowglobe will be installed at More London Place where visitors will be invited to stand inside to have their photo taken, all to support the charities Save the Children and Cambridge House.
