BOMPAS & PARR OPEN THE BRITISH MUSEUM OF FOOD
Our favourite food provocateurs are at it again with the launch of The British Museum of Food in Borough Market.
The first ever cultural institution in the UK entirely devoted to the history, evolution, science and art of food has opened.
We know that Bompas and Parr have worked on breathable cocktails, monumental jellies, anatomical tastings and even cooked with lava, but this time they aim to showcase the most exciting elements of food through knowledge and of course play.
The program will include a Peristalsis Experience – a digital journey into the body, Choco-Phonica – a wonderland of sound and chocolate, and The Butterfly Effect – a walk-through tropical butterfly experience, just to name a few.
The British Museum of Food promises to open the viewer’s eyes to fun and immersive ways of experiencing the subject of food. The museum's motto, ‘From Field to Table, Mouth… and Beyond’ also reflects the need to build momentum to secure bigger and more permanent location for the museum in the near future.
