Restart a Heart CPR Training Event at The Shard offices

16th February 2026

During Valentine’s week, occupiers at The Shard took part in a series of CPR training sessions as part of a Restart a Heart initiative, learning vital skills that could help save a life.

Hosted within the building, the hands-on sessions gave members of The Shard community the opportunity to learn how to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency. With guidance from trained professionals, participants were introduced to the essential steps of CPR and how to use a defibrillator (AED).

Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, including in the workplace, and immediate action can make a critical difference before emergency services arrive. During the sessions, occupiers practised effective chest compressions, learned how to recognise the signs of cardiac arrest, and gained the confidence to act should the need arise.

By bringing the initiative directly to the building, The Shard helped make life-saving training accessible to its occupier community.

The sessions were well attended, with participants taking a short break from their working day to learn practical skills that could one day help save a life — both within the building and beyond.
