newsLast week, The Shard office occupiers were invited to participate in 20 events hosted in partnership with local wellness companies. Offering a range of complimentary activities and one-to-one assessments to improve physical and mental wellbeing, sessions were scheduled from sunrise to sunset allowing them to fit around daily work schedules.
The award-winning fitness and wellness experts of Third Space hosted sunrise and sunset Pilates, body conditioning class - The Method, relaxing Yin Yoga, and Body Composition and Movement Screening. They also offered Cycle taster sessions at their Tower Bridge site – located less than five minutes’ walk from The Shard. Third Space Tower Bridge is home to a 20m pool, sauna and steam room; 28,000 sq ft gym floor, 15m indoor sprint track and training area; Cycle studio; Hot Yoga studio; and offers an array of classes from high intensity cardio to Barre. The Shard’s resident yoga teacher, Martyna Borek hosted two sunrise Yoga sessions and TCC – The Chiro Collective – led a spinal health talk followed by posture assessments, offering top to toe wellness. Dr Tim Bracewell-Milnes, Consultant Gynaecologist on Fertility and Sarah McKenna, Dietetics and Nutrition specialist from HCA Healthcare UK led insightful talks on fertility and nutrition. The London Bridge hospital, located on Levels 4-6 of The Shard, offers a range of services such as Cardiac Care, Cancer Care, Digestive Health and Women’s Health.
Lastly we were joined by Astrologist, Chloe Smart. Occupiers were sent their birth charts in advance of the session ready to begin to understand a little on how to read them. Birth chart reading is focused on self-discovery and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself.
Throughout the week, occupiers were also provided with free fruit and mandala colouring, plus one lucky occupier won a wellness hamper in a raffle. The programme of annual events in the building encourages occupiers to come together as a community.
