The Shard gifts back to local charities
17 December 2024
NewsSince November, occupiers at The Shard offices have been donating gifts for local London Bridge charities. Hundreds were donated, sorted, and wrapped by The Shard’s office elves (thank you volunteers) in the level two lobby, plus occupiers Foresight and Arma Partners hosted wrapping sessions in their offices.
Gifts were then collected by Team London Bridge via bike courier to be delivered to those locally who may be experiencing homelessness, the elderly, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and those who struggle with mental health.
Now a firm fixture in the London Bridge calendar, the Team London Bridge gift donation campaign overall coordinated 2,771 gifts being sent to and received by nine small and local charities: One Southwark, Southwark Care Leavers, Time & Talents, South London Refugee Association, Bede House, Sones End Day Centre, Riverside Parents and Carers, Manna Centre, and South London Mission’s BRITE Box project.
Across 44 businesses in London Bridge, The Shard and the London Bridge City estate, over 300 volunteers were involved in the wrapping sessions, with some even dropping gifts off at the charities and helping them set up and run their festive gatherings.
Thank you to all The Shard occupiers that donated and volunteered.
