RECORD-BREAKING MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

Starting at 9am, 244 metres above London in The View from The Shard, coffee was enjoyed alongside the show-stopping cake replica of the UK’s tallest building.

The spectacular cake, a 1:155 replica of the building’s height took a team of cake designer’s 146 hours to meticulously craft, using 20 kilograms of icing and 15kg of Belgian chocolate for the ganache coating to complete. The creation served a staggering 700 portions.

At 10am, the remaining cake was transported to Level 2 to be enjoyed by the 27 businesses based at The Shard offices. Additional cakes were provided by Oblix Restaurant and Shangri-La The Shard, London, complimented with coffee from resident coffee shop, Old Spike Roastery.
