Hutong Welcomes the Year of the Horse with Peddlers Gin
Perched high above London on Level 33 of London’s iconic Shard building, Hutong invites guests to celebrate Chinese New Year 2026 with an extraordinary programme of festivities, marking the arrival of the Year of the Horse.
From 16th February to 3rd March, guests can immerse themselves in authentic Chinese New Year traditions with a specially curated set menu, including an exclusive Special Drinks Menu with Peddlers Gin, a boldly adventurous gin born on the back streets of Shanghai.

The festivities will be in full swing on the 16th February with a curated evening of special celebrations steeped in Chinese New Year tradition, where guests can write their wishes for the year ahead on wooden wishing cards and hang them on a traditional wishing tree.
Each guest will also receive a lucky red envelope with the opportunity to win exclusive prizes, including brunch for two. The atmosphere will be brought to life with captivating live entertainment, with a showcase of the mesmerising lion dance and the ancient art of Bian Lian face-changing mask performance.

Guests can immerse themselves in authentic Chinese New Year traditions with two specially curated set menus, both priced at £128 per person, or upgrade to the Window Experience at £158 per person for spectacular views.
At the heart of the feast lies the traditional Lo Hei New Year of Horse salad, a symbolic dish of prosperity where lobster, abalone, prawns, and salmon are carefully arranged and crowned with amber walnuts and sweet plum sauce. The menu continues with delicate steamed sea bass fillet and pickled chilli dumplings, fiery Sichuan-style fried chicken alive with dried chillies, and succulent kung po prawns that balance heat and sweetness.
Guests can also add the restaurant's signature Roast Peking Duck (whole £120, half £70). For plant-based diners, the Vegetarian Set Menu showcases dishes including mapo tofu, wok-tossed lotus root with pine nuts, and the signature Lo Hei salad in its vegetarian form.

Throughout the celebration period, Hutong has partnered with Peddlers Gin to create a special drinks menu featuring the exclusive Peddlers Gin, an exclusive limited-edition creation inspired by the traditional Chinese candied fruit treat.
Whether gathering with family and friends to toast in the new year or you're a food enthusiast eager to explore the depths of Chinese culinary history, Hutong's Year of the Horse celebration promises an unforgettable journey through Chinese New Year traditions, elevated dining, and the vibrant energy of the new year.
