The Shangri-La Hotel have launched a new programme in partnership with wellness industry experts.
The mythical Shangri-La described in James Hilton’s 1933 novel, ‘Lost Horizon’ is a sanctuary of peace, happiness and serenity. Invoking its namesake, the Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard’s wellness programme invites guests on an empowering journey to make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.
The carefully curated experience draws on the talents of fitness experts, mindfulness gurus and professional nutritionists to help guests and Londoners alike achieve a more balanced lifestyle.
A NEW EXPERIENCE FOR OVERNIGHT HOTEL GUESTS
Renowned strength and conditioning coach, Dan Roberts, and his team have created a series of in-room videos including an energetic and challenging HIIT session led by Roberts, a medium intensity mobility workout designed to help participants stretch and realign after a long flight or day in the office and an invigorating yoga flow, both led by Roberts’s top trainers. For early risers, guests can take advantage of the complimentary running club available throughout the summer with Personal Trainer Gus Barton from the Dan Roberts Group.
As part of the in-room experience, Michael James Wong, meditation Guide & Founder of Just Breathe London has crafted a real-world approach to mindfulness outlining helpful tips on how to calm the chaos in our everyday lives.
A ‘Find your Shangri-La’ overnight experience is also available and starts from £635 based on two people staying. The experience includes an overnight stay, a personal training session for up to two people with Dan Roberts or one of his team, a complimentary healthy breakfast and smoothie for two, complimentary tickets to the wellness events taking place during your stay and complimentary use of the hotel’s leisure facilities.
SPECIAL EVENTS FOR GUESTS AND LONDONERS
From June to August, Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard will be hosting expert-led wellness events open to both resident and non-resident guests. Try sunset yoga at the highest hotel pool in Western Europe with Jessica Skye, Founder of Fat Buddha Yoga or join wellness warrior Michael James Wong for modern mindfulness workshops and ‘Just Breathe’ grand gatherings.
LA celebrity favourite Simone De La Rue of Body by Simone will be hosting energising dance workouts and local fitness instructors representing lululemon’s ambassador programs will engage attendees in primal movement classes. Lauren Armes, Founder of Welltodo will moderate a series of insightful talks and Q&A’s with pioneers from the world of fitness, clean beauty and nutrition.

WELLNESS DINING MENU
The hotel’s Executive Chef, Gareth Bowen, worked with Clare Gray, a dietitian and health nutritionist to craft a special wellness menu featuring low sugar smoothies, energy balls and nutrient-dense dishes. Breakfast is available till 11am and main dishes from 11am to 11pm.
