FESTIVE COLLABRATIONS AT THE SHARD
As time vastly approaches the month for festive frivolities and fun, we take a look at some of the more enigmatic, creative and captivating activities taking place within The Shard.
The tree's decorations will feature varying styles of brass ornaments, both representing the country’s rich culture and symbolic beliefs, highlighting the goodwill and fortune to be expressed throughout the festive season.

The celebrated unions of chic and commercial expressed through these festive events does not end there. Flagged by The Independent as one of “The 15 people who will define the future of arts in Britain,” The Shard have also now proudly merged with , London's leading creators of extraordinary installations, Bompas & Parr.
Opening Monday 23 November The Shard will reveal the masterminds creation of an enchanting winter experience for all to enjoy. "The guests’ journey through the attraction will build anticipation of the theatrics on the Skydeck through immersive decorations and creative use of our audio-visual displays" says Duncan Welsh, Event Sales Manager at the The View from The Shard. With super-scaled crystals, gem-studded snow dunes, glowing crystal benches, a touch-responsive iridescent grotto and carolling plants; the sensory installation aspires to evoke the playfulness and romance of the season only to further enhance the wonder of standing atop Western Europe’s tallest building.

Vivienne Westwood Christmas Tree and Bompas & Parr - The View From The Shard
This year British designer and activist, Dame Vivienne Westwood and aqua shard have collaborated in a charitable capacity in order to help raise funds for Cool Earth, an organisation dedicated to working with indigenous villages to put a halt on rainforest destruction. Opening on the 24th November, a spectacular 18-foot Christmas tree designed by Vivienne Westwood will be unveiled in the atrium of aqua shard restaurant on level 31 of The Shard. With spectacular views of London’s sparkling night skyline as a perfect backdrop for such an occasion, guests can enjoy viewing the sustainably sourced British tree, adorned with delicate fairy lights and festive beading created by a women’s cooperative in the Awajún community. The stunning design of the tree is a tip of the hat to Vivienne Westwood’s environmentalist ethos.
Aqua shard to compliment the resplendent tree will be selling an exclusive range of limited edition Cool Earth chocolate bars, emblazoned with a unique wrapper design created by Westwood & Cool Earth.
In keeping with the Christmas spirit, a charming fusion of Asian heritage and Chinese chic has also emerged this year in the form of The Shard’s signature hotel’s Christmas tree. The Shangri-la Hotel have collaborated with pioneering fashion house and curator of modern Asian aesthetics, Shanghai Tang to unveil a tree inspired by China’s mythical traditions and romantic legends.
