Medical Protection Society (MPS), located on Level 19, is the world’s leading not-for-profit, member-owned organisation providing protection for doctors, dentists and allied healthcare professionals.

MPS exists to protect and support the professional interests of more than 300,000 members around the world. Because they are owned by and accountable to members, they have a long-term commitment to support members, and the healthcare systems in which they operate, not a short-term requirement to generate profits. MPS’s in-house experts help with the wide range of legal and ethical issues that arise from professional practice. This can include assistance with clinical negligence claims, complaints, medical and dental council inquiries, legal and ethical dilemmas, disciplinary procedures, inquests and investigations. MPS’s philosophy is to help members prevent patient safety incidents from occurring in the first place, not just helping to resolve a claim or complaint once it has occurred. They do this through industry-leading risk management workshops, e-learning, clinical risk assessments, publications, conferences, lectures and presentations. MPS also actively campaign for regulatory and legal reforms that benefit members and the wider healthcare professions. MPS is not an insurance company. All the benefits of membership of MPS are discretionary as set out in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
